"I live in NYC, but I got married in Carmel, CA in March 2009... I thought booking a makeup artist from a distance would be a tough task. My photographer sent me pics of a wedding he shot before and when I saw the bride, I immediately asked him who the stylist was b/c that's the way I wanted to look... romantic and womanly, not too cute and overdone... my photographer sent me Ann's info and after emailing with her, I booked her for my wedding.

In planning for my wedding, I found her to be so responsive and involved... she asked me questions about what style I wanted and no matter when I sent her an email or how long the email was, I found a quick response from her with all the answers. Ann is so easy to work with and made me feel like she was as focused on my wedding as I was.

The makeup and hairstyle on the day of the wedding was even more than I could have imagined. Everything was flawless and I've had so many comments about how wonderful and glowing I looked that day. I can't say enough about how above and beyond Ann is in terms of doing hair and makeup. I didn't even have a trial with her so she was able to do a perfect job based on a few email exchanges. I would recommend her to anyone and would welcome emails about Ann."

I was so amazed by her portfolio, that i had to come in to give Ann a try. We met for the trial and she was so fun to talk to. She told me about airbrush makeup and we gave that a try. Though i ended up not doing airbrush i am happy i had listen to Ann and gave it a try anyways. She was really honest about airbrush. I had spoken to other artist in the past and they never told me a thing about what the downs of airbrush. Ann was so honest. You will see how she turned not so attractive looking girls into beauty queens. She takes her time to ensure that every level of makeup is done correctly. She takes her time but the end result is obvious. It's not one of those 10 minutes makeup that is done by makeup artists who tries to sneak an hour of your time to do a 10 minutes makeup. She ensures layers of concealers, foundations are placed before the makeup is done so that it doesn't show carelessness that many makeup artists tend to do these days. Not only is her work great, but she is a very people-person that is easy to get along with.

"For my October 11, 2008 wedding, I booked Ann as my makeup artist and hairstylist. I normally do not wear a lot of makeup and the only thing I do with my hair is wear it down or up in a ponytail. I had some concerns about my tattoos showing in my wedding photos, as I was wearing a dress that exposed my back and Ann helped me with covering those too.

My biggest concerns were; a hairstyle that did not suit my face/body or style (for my wedding dress) and makeup that looked too heavy or did not stay put for a long enough time and would need a lot of retouching after photos, dancing, changing, eating, perspiring etc (weddings are long from start to finish).

I did not have any idea how I wanted my hair done, so I asked Ann what she would suggest given the shape of my face, my hair length, my height, my neck/shoulder type and my dress style and went with her suggestion.

After Ann did my makeup trial, I went out to lunch with my girlfriends and my then-fiance. They loved her work and I booked her the same day. Load of stress off my shoulders!

Ann gave me a few suggestions and tips on what to do before my wedding day. I had my long hair layered and when Ann arrived the day of my wedding to work with me, everything went very smoothly.

I must say that Ann is very easy to work with, she was very punctual, completely prepared and worked with ease even with all the commotion and fuss in the house (lots of people including relatives, children, barking dogs and bridal party members running around trying to get things together). I did not feel rushed or bored. I felt very at ease working with Ann. Like someone else said, she does not pressure you to purchase more services than you want. I would always recommend the trial session though. It gives both the artist and the bride/client a chance to see what they are working with and to 'tweak' things for the big day.

When Ann was done my hair and makeup were perfect. The makeup did not look or feel overdone/heavy. It was better than natural, fresh/clean and beautiful! The makeup stayed put for over 13 hours, and that is even after dancing! I didn't need to reapply! I got compliments from everyone, including the most brutal critics in my circle of friends and family members. So far everyone who sees my wedding pictures has also compliment me on my hair and makeup. They even asked for her website/contact info. That's when you know the makeup artist you chose rocks!

Without hesitation, I would confidently and highly recommend Ann. I am definitely looking forward to booking her for future events."

Ann has a very versatile style and can accommodate many different looks as you can tell by her diverse portfolio. She has a very good eye in terms of what look goes with what type of clothes. The colors of my eye makeup really stood out with my outfit. My skin looked flawless and my hair was in "Serena van der Woodsen" waves.
